Product Overview

Oxyderm clearing pads are a great acne acid treatment for those looking for a little more strength on their acne product.

But before everyone freaks out about the acid parts, lets review shall we:

There are multiple type of products used to fight acne, there are a few in particular that are very popular, yes they are technically an acid and yes they do what acids do, but at a mild level that will either open up your pores, kill bacteria and/or clean dead skin off your face.

The three acids we will discuss today are Salicylic, Glycolic & Lactic Acid.

Research

Salicylic Acid is one of the most popular ingredients used in acne products, it has been proven to work for many people.

On this Study you can get real data on its success with acne prone skin. For those who want the summary, it concludes that Salicylic acid has been used for many years to treat acne as a exfoliating and peeling agent.

It opens the pores and unclogs them, removing dead skin, bacteria and dirt.

It usually comes in either 1% or 2% doses, in this case the 2% dose will really exfoliate your skin.

Glycolic Acid is used mostly in Peelings, for those not familiar with Peelings, this Study reviews them and talks about their effectiveness.

For those looking for the summary: the acid removes layers of skin to expose new one. This new skin is brighter and smoother. The pores get unclog and cleaned as well.

The higher doses like 30% or above are used for a more intense peel that is only done once every month and so. A lower dose of acid like on this one (5%) is perfect for a product you can use more often.

Lactic acid is not as popular as our other ingredients above, however it has been used in many products and the results have been successful.

This acid also helps removes dead skin and smooths out any bumps that could be caused by the damage. It also helps hydrate the skin, perfect for dry sensitive skin.

It is believed Cleopatra used to bathe in sour milk to keep her skin smooth and bright, sour milk contains Lactic Acid. (Source).

Now combine these three chemicals, add them to a quick application method and you have yourself a product that can easily give you a exfoliation, a peeling and an acne fighting treatment.

Let’s answer the main question…

Why This Product?

While Oxyderm is a fairly new and not too popular brand they created an amazing combination of great products that just works, so they deserve the attention.

The fact that it comes in wet pads makes the application quick and effective, none of that applying the cream on your fingertips and massaging, just get a pad run it all over your skin and you’re good to go.

2% Salicylic Acid is the maximum allowed of this chemical in over the counter products, so you know you are getting the highest dose.

5% Glycolic Acid is the percentage before turning into a full on peeling product that can only be used weekly, so at this level it is great to have for daily use.

5% Lactic acid works wonderfully to clean and hydrate your skin, in case the other chemicals create some dryness or you have naturally dry skin.

The many positive reviews and great feedback on Amazon shows it has been working for many.

Some of the negative reviews are from people who did not see results in a few weeks, which is not how it really works with acne products, consistency is here key, more on this below.

Not tested on animals.

Tips and Tricks

This product is best applied on a clean surface. Wash your face and pad dry it before application.

When applying it, run it all over your skin only once, that should be enough to get it there and work, no reason to continue running it.

Do not put too much pressure when applying, its just not needed and you might turn and application step into just rubbing and creating unnecessary friction on your skin step.

Start by using it at night and see how it reacts with your skin, you might notice some dryness at first then your skin will get used to it.

Leave it on! do not remove the product, let it do its magic over a few hours, then you can wash it off.

Move to night and day and avoid the sun when possible, this product will make your skin more sensitive, so precautions are important.

You can also just use this product at night and use another one during the day increasing your acne fighting arsenal.

It might feel a bit strange at first, this is a product full of acids, so feeling a pulling sensation on your skin is normal and okay, no worries.

Precautions

Do not expect results over night, this is simply not how this product works. You have 60 pads and you should see results once you finish a box, if you did not, it might not be for you.

On the subject of not for you, realize that some products might work for others, but not for you. This is the reason it is important to try a product for at least a month until deciding if it works or not, acne clearing takes patience and testing, do not lose hope if this product does not work, try something else.

If you notice some dryness after applying it a few times, keep on the look out, some skin types are fairly sensitive to these chemicals, so if you notice redness or bumpiness on your skin after two weeks, stop using the product, your skin can’t handle it.

Of course if you need other great products, information and more reviews; check out the other pages full of great data on all skin issues. The AcneScars and Damaged / Wrinkles page which is full of great moisturizers and other skin healing goodies.

Check out the Oxyderm Pads over at Amazon. This great and unique product is an excellent acne fighting tool for those still getting too many breakouts.

The studies on how this works are there, the reviews are there too and all you have left its you giving it a try to see results too.

If the product to finally clear your skin is a few clicks away, wouldn’t you at least try it? seems like there is more to win by getting a clear skin, then to lose by not getting clear and at least know it was not for you.

This combination of the three most popular acids just seems to work and people should know a lot more about this product, time to be another believer.

Getting outbreaks of acne can be very disturbing for acne sufferers, specially if you have a date night or special event coming up. Using acids, like salicylic, glycolic and lactic acid to treat acne, does seem to be effective.

I am worried that you say that Oxyderm is a “not too popular brand”, which makes me very worried to try this product. Why are they not too popular? Is it because the products fail to be effective? Or is it the actual Oxyderm brand that doesn’t have a reputable name?

    Thank you for clarifying.

      Hey LineCowley,
Yes, this is a fantastic combination product for every day use. You ask a good question, so let me clarify: What I really mean is that this particular brand does not have the level of marketing as others, hence why you don’t see much of it around. Nothing to do with product quality or the like, simply little advertisement, so people are not really aware of this product that much, hope that clears it, thanks for reading.
