Red/Dry Skin

Why do I have dry skin?

Sometimes some of the products for acne dry your skin and makes it flaky. I know I mentioned in the Acne page we want to avoid oily skin, but a dry skin not only looks terrible, but it also leaves your skin to trap bacteria more easily causing pimples.

Why do I have Red Itchy Skin?

Same as above some of the products will do this and not only makes the skin look bad, but also hurt or itch.

Below are some of my recommendations for dealing with Dry and/or Red skin.

You will see some products below, to see the full list of product reviews check out the Other Products page.

Oil Control Moisturizer

I consider this product the best moisturizer that was ever created for Acne prone skin. Because it was made for that purpose, this moisturizer is an excellent choice to put on after applying your Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid product. This product will not leave white marks on your skin, nor give you a greasy finish look like some other moisturizers do.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer

This moisturizer is also perfect to use after your Needle Roller, it will keep the skin moist and help the healing process overnight. Pretty much you can use it on any of the treatments mentioned here and will not disappoint. It will help cure dry and red skin while keeping your skin soft and not oily.

 Organic Moisturizer

A great option for those who want something very effective, but more natural for the skin.

Tips and Tricks

If you notice your Acne treatment is making your face worse rather than better is best to stop your treatment or reduce the amount of times you are using the product. Do not think that is normal for your face to turn pitch red and extremely dry after your Acne treatment. Some treatments are too strong for certain skin types, so its better to stop before doing more damage.

When Applying the moisturizers always do it after your Acne treatment is fully dried on your skin.

Final Thoughts

Dealing with Acne and Scars is one thing, but dealing with Dry and Red skin shouldn’t be an issue. Hopefully you have all the information you need to help you get the beautiful skin you deserve, do not fret too much about it and continue your treatment for Beautiful Clear Skin.
